Campaigning Rules
Please read this document as it outlines the guidelines on campaigning and distribution of any campaign materials at Unit Meetings, more specifically:
- The only campaigning allowed at Unit Meetings will be under “The Good of the Union” with a normal seven (7) minute limit, pursuant to the IBEW Constitution, Article 15, Parliamentary Rules, Paragraph 2, per candidate. This will allow the normal business of the Unit to take place prior to any campaigning.
- Campaign literature, or any campaign items endorsing a candidate, can only be handed out before the Unit Meeting, or after the Unit Meeting has been adjourned.
- NO campaign literature can be posted on any Company bulletin boards, and no use of Company phones or emails can be used for any campaigning purposes.
- Social Media Guidelines surrounding Campaign Literature on the Local Union Websites and Social Media pages will be followed accordingly:
The Local Union will NOT honor requests to post campaign literature or other campaign materials on its website or its Social Media pages.
