OPPOSE THE PUEBLO DISTRICT 60
EXPLORATION OF PRIVATIZING NUTRITION SERVICES
We are reaching out today to enlist support to oppose the Pueblo District 60 exploration of privatizing Nutrition Services, which are jobs currently held by AFSCME members. The D60 Nutrition Program is a lifeline for many impoverished families in the Pueblo area providing not only free lunch, but also free breakfast and a free supper program. The very core of their work is rooted in the poverty in our city; the notion that they should be replaced with a private company that pays poor wages is an entirely antithetical solution.
Stand in solidarity with these workers by signing and sharing this petition on your social media and/or adding your name and local to this letter to the school board.
Thank you in advance from the Southern Colorado Labor Council.
